Abstract
Universities in Bangladesh play very important role in the overall development of the country. This is evident from the fact that the students and teachers of the Dhaka University which was established in the year 1921, was at the forefront of the national liberation struggle that led to the independence of the country. Other Universities of Bangladesh at both public sector and the private sector are also playing an important role by not only providing degrees and thus producing quality human resources for various sectors of the economy, but also producing enlightened citizens and thus improving the quality of life in the society as a whole. In order to solve the problem of accessibility of higher education the government of Bangladesh is allowing the establishment of private Universities in Bangladesh from 1992. But nowadays there is a controversy whether the private universities are contributing to the nation or not. The present paper is an attempt to reflect on the contribution or role of private universities for the task of nation-building and reforming the education sector. The paper will also formulate shortcomings and provide recommendation to overcome the existing barriers. To collect data, one questionnaire has been developed for the teachers working in the private universities in the capital city.

Abstract
In esthetic dentistry, direct composite resins offer many advantages such as treatment in a single visit, not requiring preliminary models or wax-ups, not involving laboratory fees, cause less stress on the opposing dentition, and able to be repaired easily. Replacing tooth structure that is lost due to trauma to the anterior teeth remains a challenge to the restorative dentist. The restorations must not only be able to withstand masticatory forces, but also be esthetically pleasing and acceptable.Veneers describe the possibility of improving dental esthetics with low-thickness glass ceramics with conservation of tooth structure for patients with small to moderate anterior tooth material loss and little discoloration. This article presents two case reports where esthetics have been compromised and the use of direct composite restorations and all ceramic veneers as treatment options for restoring the aesthetic.

Abstract
Developing reading comprehension ability is an important aspect of language learning; and Metacognitive strategies (MCSs) have a crucial role in learning language skills and sub-skills including reading. The present study focused on improving reading comprehension ability and MCSs’ use through Task-based Instruction (TBI). In doing so, 75 advanced EFL learners out of a total 100 were selected through the TOEFL and assigned to three homogeneous groups, with 25 students in each. The first experimental group worked out Information-gap tasks, the second experimental group practiced Opinion-gap tasks, while the control group was instructed conventionally in their reading instruction. Metacognitive Strategy Use (MSU) and reading performances of the participants were assessed before and after the treatment sessions. Obtained data underwent multiple statistical analyses of ANOVA. As to the reading performance, both treatment groups outperformed the control group. With respect to the MSU, however, Opinion-gap task group outperformed Information-gap and control group.

Abstract
This research focuses on a content analysis study of Lake Toba, which is located in the province of North Sumatera. As one of the largest volcanoes-tectonic lakes in the world and the biggest lake in Southeast Asia, Lake Toba is visited by both local and international tourists. Most of the tourists who visited the lake shared their experience in several online review platforms, namely TripAdvisor. Hence, the data in this study were analyzed qualitatively using content analysis with thematic coding. The sample used in this study is taken from the TripAdvisor forum. The result of this study highlighted natural and cultural attractions as the two utmost experiences shared by the tourists while visiting Lake Toba

Abstract
This paper sheds light on the ways how a literature circle helps improve English Language skills. A literature circle is a student centered practice session where each student gets directly involved in the work and the teacher acts as a passive actor in the back just to control the function. In this paper, the researchers adopt the literature circle model designed and practiced by Elhess and Egbert (2015). The study is conducted on 22 BRAC Nobodhara School teachers who have received in-service training offered by the BRAC Institute of Languages, BRAC University. All the teachers having Masters Graduation in various disciplines have mixed level English language proficiency. The course objective is to develop their language proficiency to a higher level so that they can use the target language both inside the classroom and even outside.

Abstract
With the growing speed of English language communication all over the world, and the improvements made in the ELT programs, many language instructors rethink their pedagogy and have updated their materials for students’ needs in different countries. This is more outstanding in post-graduate studies (PhD degrees). Hence, this study aimed at, classifying the language needs of PhD candidates, comparing ESP needs of candidates doing their degrees in different disciplines, comparing their ideas with those of their instructors, assessing the current language proficiency level of candidates, and finally matching the current ESP classes with candidates’ real needs as well. To this end, 54 PhD candidates and 32 instructors participated in the study. Data were collected through a highly reliable (r =. 96) tailor-made questionnaire. In addition, FCE (First Certificate in English) test and CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) were utilized to assess the current proficiency level of the candidates. The results signified:

Abstract
English is studied in Bangladesh as a compulsory subject in our curriculum to materialize specific purpose, e.g. to get overseas employment, to help to promote foreign trade and commerce and higher education facilities. English is taught also to enable learners to be acquainted with the foreign culture, tradition, history and the country in general of the target language and also to pursue knowledge and pleasure about the world. Learners study English for 14 years. During this long period English and Bengali are considered by the same weight. The aim of this paper is to describe the context of English Learning System in Bangladesh. It is an attempt to find out the present situation and problems within it, and to conclude by making some proposals and recommendation towards the improvement of the situation. The paper will also focus on the aims and objectives of LSEL in colleges of Dhaka City that is attempting to minimize the problems in learning situation of LSEL in Bangladesh

Abstract
ELT classroom has seen a gradual shift from teacher centered to student centered one and motivation of the students plays a crucial part in the classroom. Teachers have a vital role to make students motivate in the classroom. This paper reports on a study conducted, whether and to what extent remembering the name of the students’ functions as a motivational factor for ELT learners at Dhaka University. Its central receptacle was on measuring the degree of motivation in the light of five key areas: positive impact on classroom behavior, positive impact on result, negative impact on classroom behavior, negative impact on results, and others. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected from the graduate students of the English department through questionnaire and focused group interview. The analysis revealed that remembering the name of the students contained a substantial motivational factor for the students. However, it lagged behind in some areas. The study also discussed the implications of the findings and offered recommendations and limitation.

Abstract
Web-based devices and applications which have the potential to increase the motivation and engagement of students to in language learning have attracted much attention among the ELT community. On the brand new web-based technological devices which have been employed for the educational purposes is the Moodle, an open source virtual learning environment. Given the significance of technology in general and the potentially influential role of the E-learning Moodle in second language learning, the present study investigates the effect of Moodle-mediated second language instruction on the reading comprehension of Iranian EFL students. In so doing, the EFL learners of two classes of English majors in an Islamic Azad university in Iran were recruited as the participants of the study.

Abstract
With the widespread popularity, of course management systems in educational contexts, a number of educators and practitioners have advocated the employment of such systems especially Moodle in the regular instruction. The purpose of the present paper was to investigate the effect of a Moodle-supported grammar instruction in the grammar performance of Iranian EFL students. In so doing, 51 Iranian EFL learners who were the students of two intermediate classes at a private language center in Tehran Province, Iran, were recruited as the participants of the study. One of the classes (n=26) was randomly assigned as the experimental group and the other group (n=25) was assigned as the control group. As the experimental intervention, specific grammar points supposed to be covered in the textbook were integrated into a Moodle system.

Abstract
Tagore’s theory of education is known by naturalistic & aesthetic values. He had the faith that “The widest road leading to the solution of all our problems is educationâ€. Education can create a new pattern of life. Tagore’s system of education lays stress on the intellectual, physical, social, economic, moral and spiritual aspects of life. He was highly influential in introducing the best of Indian culture to the West and vice versa, and he is generally considered as the creative artist of the modern Indian subcontinent. Tagore gave the same importance to both aesthetic development and intellectual development–if not more so–and music, literature, art, dance and drama were given great importance in the daily life of the school. Tagore was one of earliest educationists who think in terms of the global village. His educational model has a sole sensitivity and aptness for education within multi-racial, multi-lingual and multi-cultural situations, amidst conditions of acknowledged economic discrepancy and political imbalance.

Abstract
In the present research, 30 xylanase producers were isolated by serial dilution and spread plate method from waste water samples of paper and pulp industry, Kupwad MIDC, Sangli (MH), India. This isolates were named as AG1, AG2 up to AG30. This all 30 isolates were screened for xylanase production by primary and screening. In the primary screening, AG12 showed 1.8mm zone of hydrolysis therefore AG12 were selected for Solid State fermentation at 25℃. AG12 showed highest xylanase production on 5th days of incubation period with 44.12 µg/ml/Mol activity. Further, xylanase were extracted and purified by Ammonium sulphate precipitation and dialysis with 20 Mol/ml/min and 12.04 (U/ml) respectively. The crude Xylanase were characterized by using different parameters such as temperature ranges from 10-50°c (optima-30°c), pH ranges from 4-10 (optima-pH 8.0).

Abstract
An important biometric technique is fingerprint recognition. Depending on the data-gathering approaches, fingerprints can be categorized into contact-based and contactless systems. Because of its advantages in security and sanitation and its small cost in now a day, contactless fingerprints have consistently attracted study interest. In this article, we present a technique for creating a contactless fingerprint identification system that uses an image sensor and a suitable environment to capture a finger image remotely. The obtained global and local attributes are applied to the acquired finger images. A Siamese convolutional neural network (S-CNN) extracts global information from a finger image. The proposed approach calculates matching scores using characteristics taken from CNN and minutiae. Fusing the two scores creates the last matching score between the investigation and reference fingerprint patterns. Most crucially, we can execute contactless fingerprint identification in present with minimal latency and adequate matching accuracy thanks to the Nvidia Jetson Nano development kit, which is employed to create the proposed approach. A 150-train subject and 120-test subject internal IITI contactless fingerprint dataset (IITI-CFD) are applied to evaluate the effectiveness of the recommended method. The proposed approach is better than existing approach.

Abstract
Amitav Ghosh is the proclaimed author of the books he wrote addressing issues concerning oppressed class in Indian Society. He has expressed his sympathy towards the downtrodden in his major novels. The issues they face regarding migration, alienation, and existential dread in the lives of the oppressed class can be explored by reading his novels. Amitav Ghosh in a different way, has expressed his concerns as a voice for their sacrifices and the challenges they face in life, which go un noticed in there cords of history. In his writings, he made the subaltern the main character, thus by providing them a center stage to express their problems and raise their voice against those who try to oppress them. The main purpose of this paper is to study major novels of Amitav Ghosh and to highlight his perception concerning the downtrodden people of Indian society. For this paper, the novels that have been selected for study are “The Calcutta Chromosomes, The Glass Palace, The Circle of Reason, The Sea of Poppies and The Circle of Reason”. In his novels, he has realistically outlined the struggles and pathetic lives of the unprivileged. Amitav Ghosh’s In his novels, he has exposed the evil faces of poverty, exploitation, suppression, and homelessness.
